Healthcare
Trusted. Accurate. Effective
A Cry for Transparency
With the new federal and state legislation currently being passed, the healthcare industry is starring down big changes. States are passing laws requiring staffing ratios, while the federal government is forcing institutions to publicly display real-time data analysis of adverse patient outcomes and staffing levels. How are hospitals able to deal with all these new requirements for information while still providing excellent patient care? Most hospitals have the systems to gather the required information, unfortunately, the information is housed in several systems and each says something different.
Want to know the census in your ICU? The finance system displays the Midnight census, the ADT system displays the shift census, and my time & attendance system is displaying something altogether different. Which one is correct?
AcuStaf houses multiple views of the same information. Finance sees exactly what they want to see. In the above scenario, Finance would see the Midnight census. Certainly, Finance builds a budget around how many beds are occupied at Midnight, but the nurse manager needs to see the census by shift or real-time (contact census) in order to staff effectively. Usually, beds are turned multiple times in a day, leaving a Midnight Census that does not match the unit's activity for the day. AcuStaf provides multiple views of the same information in order for each department to correctly accomplish their tasks.
